What to Expect During the Year of the Rat, According to Your Zodiac Sign

January 25th marks the celebration of the Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival/Lunar New Year. Out of the 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac, in 2020 we celebrate the Year of the Rat.

It doesn’t sound that promising until you learn about what this really signifies- a year of progression and success in business. It’s quite the opposite compared to 2019, the Year of the Boar, which symbolizes self-care and balance.

However, this prediction of entrepreneurial success in the Year of the Rat doesn’t ring true for just anyone. According to Astrologists Jim Ventura and Cathryn Moe, the differences can be found within each Zodiac sign.

Water signs like Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces are going to be more willing to inch towards their goals this year this a focus on emotional issues in your life.

Scorpio: Out with the old and in with the new is the theme for Scorpios in the Year of the Rat. It’s time to find exciting and liberating new partners, while the old relationships need to change in order to survive.

Pisces: Similar to Scorpios, Pisces will also set their sights on something new to revitalize their mind, body and spirit. This might include a new group of friends to match your new 2020 mindset. Cancer: Astrologists suggest that Cancers should prepare for a “radically different relationship with a former, current or potential romantic partner” as 2020 means “more physical, emotional or even geographical distance.” Cancers should keep their friends close during this change of pace.

The Year of the Rat sparks tenacity in fire signs, such as Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, who are in the zone this year and accomplishing more long term goals.

Aries: Chinese culture suggests that out of the past 248 years, this is the most important year for success in your career for Aries. A promotion or a new and exciting role is on the horizon!

Leo: People born under Leo are focusing on fitness and surgical or medical changes in 2020. They will finally feel as if they are in the right place at the right time to truly succeed in these efforts.  [If muscle aches are holding you back from meeting those fitness goals, massage your soreness away with our Lavender + Eucalyptus Healing Salve]

Sagittarius: The Year of the Rat brought drastic changes for Sagittarius in January that mostly led to more money in the bank. (Holla!) Another revolution is afoot in May having to do with food, healing or fitness.

Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo, otherwise known as earth signs, will prosper this year in a variety of ways, as priorities come to the forefront.

Taurus: Taurus will begin to think more on a global scale and explore what different cultures have to offer. Taurus will also debate if their current romantic relationship is worth the battle.

Virgo: A friend, family member or colleague will bring a new baby or child into your life that will change everything for you and become a top consideration in love.

Air signs, including Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius will become more industrious and detail-oriented.

Libra: Living situations are changing for Libras. This could entail a home renovation, roommate swap or changes within the family.

Aquarius: Spirituality, yoga, meditation or religion will spark big changes for Aquarius. Aquarius will also find the clarity that they’ve been seeking on their partner.

And if you aren’t where you thought you’d be after setting your New Year’s resolution, take some time to quiet your thoughts and simplify your life.

Listen to your body.

In the end, it’s up to you to make the most of this new day.
